Rich Ceretti is the Owner/Founder of New York Pet Care and is a full time Veterinary Technician, Assistant, and Kennel Worker who has been working at local Animal Hospitals since 1994. He started in high school as an assistant looking to gain experience towards acceptance to Veterinary School. In 2004, he graduated from The Pre-Veterinary Program at The University of Vermont with a Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science. Since then he has been Pet Sitting to fund his continuing education and as a means towards raising money to pay for Veterinary school. Along the way he saw that there was a real need for experienced pet care specialists in the community that were able to travel to the homes of those who couldn't make it to the hospital, had to work long hours, or just wanted to go away on vacation but had to put it off because of their pets. Rich decided that he could use his education and love for animals and help those in need and in 2010, New York Pet Care was created on the principles of Patience, Dedication, and Reliability so that Rich could bring his knowledge and experience to all his clients as a full time Pet Care Specialist.

Patience, Dedication, and Reliability
Every animal has a unique personality and disposition. Because of this, every animal needs to be treated differently. This requires a unique pet sitter, with a wide range of experience and a wealth of knowledge. Whether you have young pets or older ones, we provide expert guidance to help effectively raise your pet, or just to keep them happy and healthy when you can't be home. If you love your animal, you can count on New York Pet Care to bring love and compassion into your home.

Q: Where are you located?
A: Home base is in Shrub Oak, NY and all mileage charges are calculated from this location. The business address in Greenwood Lake, NY is a permanent address so that if we move, all correspondence and payments will continue to go to the same address.
Q: How far do will you drive to take care of my pets?
A: We are currently serving all of Westchester County, Putnam County, and the surrounding area.
Please understand that the longer we're out driving, the less we are able to do our job and as such it is counter-productive to spend too much time on the road. If you are unable to find local pet-care give us a call and we'll do what we can to work something out.
Q:Do you board pets?
A: We do not currently have a boarding facility. We are happy to come to your home and take care of your pets, and we believe this is the best choice for their care while you are away. Stress is very taxing on our animal friends and keeping as close to their normal routine as possible will make them much happier. A happy pet is a healthy pet!
Q: How do you decide what to charge?
A: Each invoice is individually written up to be specific to the job. There is a list of our services and what they cost on the next page.
-A $10 visit fee is always included. This 'Visit Fee' covers the time and fuel cost of traveling to your home. After 10 miles, a $0.50/mile fee is applied to cover the extra travel expenses.
-Time is purchased in 10 minute blocks at a rate of $5 for each block. This can be used however you want! Walks, playtime, brushing, or just hanging out and "being there" so they're not alone.
Q: Do you offer discounts for multiple pet households?
A: Yes! Each pet after the first gets all the same services for an additional $5 and half price medications!
